CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns in Vienna, VA
Your dentist recommends dental crowns for various reasons. For example, a crown can support a weak tooth, prevent further damage to a decayed one, and even conceal imperfections. And with same-day crowns, you don’t have to wait weeks to restore your smile. This technology means crowns in a day!
What Are Dental Crowns?
A dental crown is a restoration that completely covers a treated tooth to the gumline. It is always color-matched to neighboring teeth and shaped to look natural when you smile. This restoration restores your bite force, allowing you to chew and smile without concern. Over time, you may even forget which tooth was capped.
About CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns in Vienna, VA
If you’ve had a dental crown in the past and the dental office did not offer CEREC technology, you likely endured goopy materials inside the mouth for impressions. The results were then forwarded to an outside lab for fabrication. In the meantime, you waited weeks, making the best of it with a temporary restoration.
When the crown was ready, you came in for final adjustments, and finally, you could enjoy your restored smile.
CEREC technology erases the hassle and the wait, leaving you with a beautifully restored tooth in short order. And the restoration is all porcelain!
CEREC technology means digital impressions and computer-enhanced models to create your crown right here in our office. It also means no more goopy impression materials.
The dentist takes digital impressions of the tooth after preparing it for crowning. Preparation involves shaping the tooth and removing any jagged filling material or rough edges. Next, the digital specs are sent to an onsite computer for crown design. Then the design is forwarded to our milling machine for fabrication. Next, we print the crown in our dental office from a single piece of quality porcelain.
Your dentist adjusts fit and color immediately, and then we cement the restoration over your tooth. From there, you brush and floss as usual and regularly see your dentist for checkups and teeth cleanings.
