If snoring has been disrupting your (or your partner’s) sleep, you’ve probably tried all sorts of solutions, from nasal strips to pillows, to find relief. If nothing you’ve tried has worked thus far, NightLase® offers a different approach, with gentle laser treatment performed at your dentist’s office.
NightLase is a non-invasive snoring treatment that uses laser energy to tighten tissue in the throat and soft palate to reduce the vibrations from air passing through that create snoring. At Vienna Family Dental, we offer snoring relief with NightLase without anesthesia, surgery, or downtime.
How NightLase Works
Snoring usually happens when relaxed tissue in the back of the throat vibrates as you breathe during sleep. NightLase uses non-invasive laser energy to gently heat that tissue, stimulating collagen and causing it to tighten. This helps keep the airway more open, reducing vibration and noise. Many patients notice quieter, more restful nights fairly quickly, though it’s worth noting that results vary from person to person.
What Happens During NightLase Treatment?
NightLase treatment takes place in our Vienna office, with Dr. David Paino and our expert team. Dr. Paino will review your health history to recommend the appropriate number of sessions for you. Generally, the treatment calls for three sessions in six weeks
As for the treatment itself, because the laser is so gentle, no incisions or anesthesia are required. The appointment is quick, easy, and fits neatly into a busy day. You can return to your regular routine right after your appointment!
Is NightLase Right for You?
NightLase is designed for snoring relief. However, it does not take the place of a professional diagnosis. For instance, loud snoring can be a sign of obstructive sleep apnea, which requires a medical evaluation. For mild to moderate cases, we also offer custom oral appliance therapy. The best way to find out which option fits you is a consultation to discuss your symptoms and sleep history.
