Misaligned or gapped teeth make it more difficult to brush and floss, but they can also be embarrassing and make you want to cover your mouth when you smile. At Vienna Family Dental, we want every patient to love what they see when they look in the mirror, and Invisalign® clear aligners could be the answer you’ve been looking for.
If you’re a teen or adult with mild to moderate orthodontic concerns, clear aligner therapy may be able to help you restore your smile and oral health.
But what’s the process like? Let’s take a look.
The Step-by-Step Invisalign Process
Planning your Invisalign treatment begins with our state-of-the-art technology. Once we’ve determined your candidacy for clear aligners, here are the steps we follow:
- Digital impressions — First, we take digital impressions and photos. Using these impressions, our advanced software develops a 3-D virtual model of your teeth.
- Treatment planning — We use this digital model to plan your Invisalign treatment and show you what your new smile will look like.
- Aligner creation — Once we explain the process and answer your questions, we send your treatment plan to an Invisalign lab, where they will create a series of custom aligners designed to gently shift your teeth into the desired position.
- Aligner fitting — When your aligners are ready, you’ll come into our office so we can show you how to wear and care for them. You’ll remove your aligners to eat, brush, and floss, and you’ll switch to a new set of aligners every two weeks or so. In addition to your treatment, we also offer Propel Accelerated Orthodontic Treatment. For no extra charge, this system can move your teeth up to 50 percent faster, completing your treatment in less time!
- Retainer wear — After you complete your treatment, you’ll need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth from shifting back to their original position.
